India
The Indian business document set — incorporation proof, tax identities and risk-control documents — which numbers are checked against the registry, and the conditional licences.
The Indian document set, grouped as the product groups it. Which of these you are asked for depends on your constitution — you are not shown documents that cannot apply to you.
The three categories
Incorporation proof
That the entity exists, in the form you say it does.
Certificate of incorporation, memorandum and articles of association for companies; the LLP certificate, agreement and LLPIN for an LLP; the partnership deed for a firm; the trust deed or society registration certificate for those forms.
Tax identities
The registrations that make you a real commercial entity.
PAN, GST, CIN for companies and Udyam for registered small and medium enterprises are all checked online against the issuing registry — you enter the number and the check happens where the record lives.
That is why business verification is usually faster than people expect. The documents you upload are the ones with no registry to check against.
Risk and control
That the business operates where it says it does, and that whoever is registering has the authority.
A current account, a utility bill or rent agreement for the premises, and — for companies — a board resolution or authorisation letter naming the person acting.
The last one matters more than it looks. It is what separates a business account opened by its directors from one opened by whoever happened to have the documents.
Conditional licences
Beyond the core set, industry-specific registrations are asked for where they apply:
- FSSAI — food businesses
- Import–export certificate — anyone trading across borders
Conditional means "required if it applies to you". The form asks rather than assuming.
Getting through it quickly
Pick the right constitution first
Everything else follows from it. Choosing wrongly means answering a document list that was never yours.
Do the registry-checked numbers first
PAN, GST, CIN and Udyam are instant. Clearing them tells you immediately whether your records agree with the registry, which is where most problems surface.
Have the incorporation documents to hand as files
These are the uploads. Scanning them mid-form is where the process stalls.
Sort the authority document before you start
A board resolution or authorisation letter usually needs somebody else's signature. It is the item most likely to take days rather than minutes.
Common rejections
- Name mismatch between what is registered and what you entered — including suffixes, "Pvt Ltd" against "Private Limited"
- An address document that does not match the registered address
- An expired licence where a conditional one applies
- Authority not evidenced — a company registered by somebody the documents do not name
