Everything about your personal account lives in one place, and the sections you see depend on which seat you are acting from.
Profile
Who you are, as counterparties see you. Name, and how you would like to be contacted once contact details are exchanged.
Preferred contact details are the ones handed over when an enquiry is accepted — not necessarily your login email. Setting them to where you actually read and answer is the difference between looking responsive and looking absent.
Language and region
The interface language, and regional formatting.
Bidancer is published in more than one language because the businesses using it do not all work in English. Your choice is yours alone and does not change what counterparties see.
Security and privacy
Your credentials and how your account is protected.
Worth doing once and properly: an account that can transact and hold credits is worth protecting like any other financial login.
Your data and rights
The rights you can exercise directly rather than by writing to somebody:
- What is held about you, and an export of it
- Consent you have given, and withdrawing it
- Erasure, and what it costs you — an account that withdraws verification can no longer transact
These run under both the Indian DPDP Act and the GDPR. The page swaps to the business's own export when you are acting for a business, rather than showing personal rights in a business context.
Notifications
Which channels reach you, per category of thing that happens.
In-app notifications cannot be turned off
Email and WhatsApp are yours to choose. Notifications inside the product are not, because an enquiry waiting on your decision has a clock on it and silence has consequences — see Response scores.
Update requests
Some changes to a verified identity are reviewed rather than applied instantly, for the same reason verification exists at all — a name that can be changed freely after verification is a name that was never verified.
Your update requests and their outcomes are listed, so a pending change is visible rather than silent.
